John on his bili blanket. He's a little glow worm!!

1 week old today!!!

John Wesley has arrived!!

John Wesley arrived last Monday 4/14/08 at 1:01 pm. He weighed 6lbs 11 oz and was 19 1/4 inches long. We were able to come home on Wednesday. John was beginning to be jaundiced when we came home and we followed up with his pediatrician on Friday. His bilirubin level was 17.6 and he was placed on a bili blanket and home health was started. Kind of ironic....the pediatric home health nurse needs pediatric home health!! Last night our nurse came back out to draw blood again and we received word that his level had dropped to 13 and we were able to stop the bili blanket. YAY!! I am going to post some pics of John from the hospital today and a few we have taken since being home. Keep us in your prayers as we begin to settle in at home. Love, Amanda

Today was my final doctor's appointment. I am scheduled to be admitted into Thomas Hospital Sunday night at 10pm and scheduled to be induced Monday April 14, 2008. I can't believe that this little miracle that we have prayed for and dreamed of for so long is finally going to be here. I am very overwhelmed right now. I can't wait to hold him and look at his face. It is going to be a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and prayed for us throughout this entire journey. We couldn't have made it without you. I can't wait for you all to finally meet baby John! Only 5 more days!! Woo Hoo!! Love, Amanda

I had a doctor's appointment today. Everything is looking great. I have made some progression and Dr. Brown says that I will definitely be ready to be induced by the 14th. YAY! My last day of work is Friday and I plan to take it easy next week. Love, Amanda
